Digitas Pixelpark continues the brand campaign “I pay Visa” – produced in a completely virtual studio

When the second main flight of the campaign “I pay Visa” goes live respectively on-air digitally in mid-January, it will be a premiere for everyone involved: the campaign films are the first scenic campaign production realized in a completely virtual 360-degree production studio.

Planned as a classic campaign production at different, real outdoor locations, which would have required their very own security and hygiene concepts due to the advancing Covid-19 pandemic, the whole production had to be rethought completely. The production of all four scenarios was therefore implemented in the digital 360-degree setting of a virtual production studio, the Hyperbowl in Munich.

“Moving our current campaign production to a virtual studio – that’s how we have entered new territory, too. Ultimately, it was exactly the right decision, as the films now impressively prove. We all can continue to build on this experience in the future”, says Merle Meier-Holsten, Head of Marketing Central Europe at Visa.

Dr. Ralf Niemann, Chief Executive Officer at Digitas Pixelpark, adds: “The results show that there is no discernible difference to previous productions. Something that, given the situations portrayed in the campaign films, was not to be expected for granted. Besides, the independence of production from the adversities of outdoor shoots, its flexibility and efficiency and the involvement of the client in every single step, despite the corona restrictions, are further top arguments that reward the courage of all those involved to break new ground in production."

The focus of the campaign is on the advantages of paying with Visa for online shopping and on-site contactless payments. Visa kicked off the campaign with a Christmas version of one of the films. All four films, each 20, 10 and 6 seconds long, are played out via social media, as display and performance ads or as TV cut-ins and are also flanked by a print campaign. The campaign continues the brand campaign that has been running under the claim "I pay Visa" since June 2019. When it was first launched, it was Visa’s largest brand campaign developed for Germany in almost 30 years, with the aim of establishing Visa as a universal alternative to cash payments.

Responsible for the campaign on the creation side at Digitas Pixelpark are Ann-Sophie Sell (Creative Direction), Sara Peterek (Art Direction), Danielle Schulze (Copywriter), Gabriele Sanchez-Palacio (Executive Producer, Saatchi & Saatchi Studio). Thorben Krause (Client Partner) and Anastasia Beutelspacher (Project Lead) were responsible for consulting at Digitas Pixelpark.

The campaign was co-produced by Vilicon & Salley GmbH, Hamburg (Ciro-Andreas Buono and Astarte Buono) and ACHT HAMBURG (Thomas Brettschneider) with the support of Marissa Schwinn (Producer) and Maximilian Hoever (DOP).
