Visa launches debit campaign with Digitas Pixelpark and Starcom

German version

On January 10th, Visa Europe launched another large-scale campaign: The focus of the integrated 360-degree campaign for Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands is Visa Debit. The campaign was developed in cooperation with agencies of Publicis Groupe Germany: creation, journey planning and data strategy originate from Digitas Pixelpark, Starcom is responsible for media strategy and implementation.

"With Visa Debit, we once again show that Visa is much more than just a card. Visa is a companion in life, and Visa Debit offers a payment solution that combines the most important advantages in one product", says Merle Meier-Holsten, Head of Marketing Central Europe at Visa. "Therefore, it was important for us to tell emotional and authentic stories related to contactless payment with Visa Debit.  With our multichannel approach, we have closely interlinked creation and media to show through each channel individually what Visa can be - a network that connects."

The campaign describes individual and everyday life situations in which Visa Debit helps to spontaneously become a heroine, to increase the anticipation of an open-air concert or to spend a round with a nice gesture.

Andreas Kant, Executive Creative Director at Digitas Pixelpark: “By using emotional, educational and at the same time entertaining storytelling, the rational topic ‘moments of payment’ gets charged playfully and fits across all channels. Of course, the storytelling of the customer journey is based on relevant insights, so that consumers can discover the many advantages of the debit card for themselves.”

The high-reach campaign, whose individual elements were customized for the various touchpoints of the target groups, includes 20- and 30-second TV spots, online videos, special placements, a static and digital display campaign, and a landing page as a content hub. It will also integrate the social media channels Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

After relaunching the European brand communication with a new brand identity, visual identity, and marketing campaign last autumn, the campaign for Visa Debit is consistently expanding the new brand image with its message “Visa is more than a card”.
